Joey Banish

Founder, Co-owner, Project Manager, Director.

Hi, my name is Joey Bannish, and I'm the proud founder of Destination Hope and Recovery.

Having spent most of my life in Pacific and Grays Harbor Counties, I've always considered this beautiful corner of the Northwest as my true home. Though my past may not be perfect, with 7 years of sobriety under my belt, I am enthusiastically embracing a brighter future.

As I reflect on my own journey, which includes over two decades of substance abuse and various challenges, I recognize that every step I've taken has led me to where I am today. My experiences have fueled my passion for helping others on their paths to recovery.

At Destination Hope and Recovery, my hope is that everyone who walks through our doors will experience their own progress. Whether it's small steps for some or larger strides for others, the key is to keep moving forward and working towards the goals we set for ourselves. I understand that everyone's story is unique, and I am committed to helping those in need to write a better future for themselves.

Robin Cozad

Co-Owner, Quality and Assurance Manager, Director.

Hello, I'm Robin Cozad, and as a proud co-owner of Destination Hope and Recovery, I've been fortunate enough to witness the remarkable growth and impact of our organization. When I initially collaborated with Joey in founding Destination Hope and Recovery, I had no idea just how much we would achieve in such a short time. As our organization expanded and diversified, I eagerly returned to contribute to the development of innovative and exciting programs.

With a strong passion for identifying areas of improvement and cultivating them into more effective systems, I am dedicated to creating meaningful and lasting change. My goal is to harness my skills and expertise to enhance the lives of those most in need. Through my work at Destination Hope and Recovery, I am committed to fostering an environment that promotes healing, resilience, and growth for all.

Understanding the importance of recognizing and addressing the unique needs and experiences of individuals and communities, I strive to create a supportive and empowering atmosphere. By focusing on fostering resilience and growth, I aim to help those we serve overcome their challenges and achieve their full potential.

My name is Angela Annie Montgomery and I serve as the Director of Peer Development at Destination Hope and Recovery. My life has been shaped by overcoming poverty and growing up in a family impacted by addiction. Those experiences give me the empathy and authenticity I bring into this work every day. I spent years doing street outreach, building trust with people who often feel unseen. That work strengthened my commitment to walking alongside people navigating similar paths. I am passionate about building bridges between human services, behavioral health, and law enforcement.
My goal is helping communities see social services as the first call instead of the default being law enforcement. I am also deeply committed to harm reduction and overdose response education.
Expanding access to naloxone and breaking stigma around drug use is a big part of that work.
I take pride in supporting staff who are peers in recovery themselves.
Through training, mentorship, and support, I help them grow into the best they can be in work and in life.

Hi, my name is Tracie Hartnett and I am an Outreach and Referral Coordinator at Destination Hope and Recovery with a deep passion for supporting individuals in need in our community. My lived experience in recovery and mental health combined with my extensive background in different healthcare settings has helped me to develop a personal understanding as well as a compassionate and empathic approach.

I am dedicated to connecting individuals to vital resources and services, ensuring they receive the help and support necessary for their well-being and providing support and encouragement along the way. Hello, my name is Steven Weathers, and I serve as the Supervisor for the Recovery Navigator Program in Lewis County.
I bring over two decades of lived experience to this role, rooted in my own journey through recovery. After struggling to navigate broken systems in my early healing, I felt a strong calling to give back—offering others the same hope and direction I once needed.

I believe people don’t need handouts—they need a hand up. I’m passionate about witnessing the moment someone realizes change is possible and begins to believe in themselves again. Currently, I’m pursuing my Associate’s degree in Substance Use Disorder counseling to deepen my ability to serve. For me, this work is more than a job—it’s a calling to walk alongside others, build connection, and inspire lasting change.

My name is Lili Thompson-Holster, and I serve as a Program Supervisor at Destination Hope and Recovery (DHR). My role here is deeply rooted in a personal mission to share hope and support with peers in our community, drawing from my own lived experiences. My journey through over 25 years of active addiction and mental health challenges has been transformative. For the longest time, I believed that being an addict was my only identity, as it led me down paths of imprisonment and profound loneliness.

Today, as a graduate of Family Recovery Court, I have turned a new page. I am now the mother and wife my family deserves, continuously growing into the best version of myself. At DHR, I am grateful to share hope and guidance from my lived experiences, offering a helping hand to those in need of a glimpse of hope in their journey.

Hello, my name is Felicia Steele, and I am an FCS Supervisor at Destination Hope and Recovery.
If there’s one word that defines my journey, it’s resilience. I’ve overcome addiction, homelessness, incarceration, and abuse—reclaiming my life through recovery, education, and motherhood. While in drug court, I regained custody of my children, earned straight A’s, and served as President of Hope Squad, all while actively supporting mothers, the homeless, and others in recovery.

I now hold degrees in both Chemical Dependency (AAS) and Human Services and remain deeply involved in the recovery community. Today, I’m a wife, a college graduate, and an advocate for those still finding their way. My mission is to inspire hope by sharing my story and reminding others that with compassion, effort, and belief, a better future is always possible.

Hi, my name is Gerith Crow, and I serve as the Program Supervisor for FCS at Destination Hope and Recovery. As a nine-time convicted felon with a history of substance use disorder, finding employment and hope seemed impossible. My past struggles resurfaced, leaving me emotionally and spiritually overwhelmed. At my lowest, I met a Certified Peer Counselor whose story gave me hope and connection.

Embracing this, I found meaning in my struggles and began viewing my past as a tool to make a positive impact.

I was given an opportunity at DHR, allowing me to support my community and provide for my family. As an FCS Case Manager, I aim to help others overcome similar challenges, connecting them to the resources that helped me. My ultimate goal is to make the world a better place.
